CVV Access and Expiration

CVV codes are viewable for 7 days after form submission to stay PCI compliant. After that, they expire and a new form is required.

Updated this week

For your security and to maintain PCI DSS compliance, CVV codes (the 3- or 4-digit code on a credit card) are available to view for up to 7 days after your client submits their payment information through a TIS-powered authorization form.

What This Means for You

• You have 7 days to view the CVV from the time the client completes the authorization form.

• After that 7-day window, the CVV will automatically expire and will no longer be visible in the platform.

• If the CVV expires before you’ve collected or used the payment, you’ll need to have your client submit a new payment authorization form.

Why This Matters

This limit exists to comply with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS), which prohibit storing CVV beyond temporary use. By restricting access to 7 days, we help protect your business from fraud and maintain full compliance with credit card security regulations.

Best Practices

• Whenever possible, view and process client payment details within the 7-day window.

• If your process may take longer (e.g., supplier confirmation delays), set a reminder to check the card before expiration.

• If the CVV has expired, you can easily resend the authorization form through your TIS dashboard for the client to resubmit.
