How Does TIS Handle Credit Card Fraud Protection and the Authorization Process?
Travel Industry Solutions (TIS) offers a secure, two-step process for handling credit card information that ensures both fraud protection and effective payment authorization. This article details the process, highlighting the role of TIS and explaining the key steps involved in managing sensitive payment data.
Overview
When a client submits their credit card details via a TIS Terms & Conditions (T&C) form, the following steps occur:
The form captures the client’s payment authorization.
The credit card details are securely stored in the TIS credit card vault, ensuring data safety and aligning with security standards.
Collecting Credit Card Information: When your client needs to make a payment, you send them a payment authorization request. This request doesn't charge their card. Instead, it safely stores their credit card details in our secure, tokenized vault. Think of it as securely locking their card information in a digital safe.
Making Payments for Travel Bookings: When it's time to pay for your client's travel booking, you simply log in to your TIS account. There, you can access the stored credit card information (which is kept secure and private). You then use these details to pay the travel supplier directly with your client's credit card.TIS acts as a secure intermediary; it is important to note that the system facilitates secure storage and authorization processes rather than operating as a payment processor. Submitting a T&C form authorizes payment use but does not immediately charge the card.
Please note, currently, TIS doesn't directly connect with merchant accounts. This means you'll be using the stored credit card details to make payments yourself, rather than having TIS do it automatically.TIS further ensures fraud protection with a vault aligned to industry security standards. Users must coordinate with their payment processors or suppliers, as TIS exclusively focuses on secure data management and authorization facilitation.
